AnPing Bridge
It is a word famous long bridge of stone over sea reputed as "There is no bridge so long as this in the world". It is a key cultural relic in the national safe-keeping.
AnPing Bridge lies in Anhai town, JinJiang City. From the east end of Anhai to the west end of Shuitou in Nan-an, its length is about 2255 m with its width of 3-3.8 m. It was built up in A.D.1138 of Song Dynasty. It is the longest sea-crossing beam-like stone flat bridge of middle ancient times in the world. It won the praise as "no bridges longer than it". It is listed in National Important Protection Historic Relic Units.
The bridge is 5 Li Long, so it is also called"WuLi bridge". Just because Anhai in ancient time was called AnPing, the bridge got the name. It was made of stone and it was built over the bay. Because of its length, many people call it "the longest stone bridge in the world" proudly. It has other beautiful names like "Grounddragon", "huge rainbow"! In the middle of the bridge, there are five booths for visitors to have a rest and a temple for people to visit. It is said that some emperors had visited it and some stone steles had been set up beside the temple. But in recent years, some parts of the bridges have been damaged, so Chinese government has ordered us to protect it because of its beauty and long history.
